Heavy Metal band Iron Maiden have announced a new world tour in 2008
During the A Matter of Life and Death tour, Bruce Dickinson made a cryptic anouncment that the band was busy building a pyramid. It looks like the Iron Maiden boys really have been busy building a pyramid! On their website, Iron Maiden have announced a tour they are calling "Somewhere Back in Time." Which will feature songs and a stage show from their 80's albums (in the same way that the Early Days tour featured stuff from their first 4 albums). The website also states that the old pyramid/egypt themed stage set from the Powerslave tour will return, as well as features from other 80's tours, such as a cyborg eddie. On top of this, the Bruce Dickinson has stated that the band is converting a jumbo jet into a flying tour bus! But hey, what better band to tour in their own personal jumbo jet then Iron Maiden. The tour will kick off in Australia in February '08. The tour will have shows all ove rthe world including, India, Japan, North America, Central and South America. I'm of course assuming Europe will also be included in the tour but it wasn't 'officially' stated in the news post on the website about Europe. But again, I can't possibly imagine they would ever leave Europe out of a tour. So far only the Austrailian dates for the conert have been anounced. Those dates are: Feb 4th-Perth, Burswood Dome Feb 6th-Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena Feb 9th-Sydney, Acer Arena Feb 12th-Brisban, Entertainmetn centre This is also a bid deal, as Iron Maiden haven't toured Austrailia in 15 years. Now I also have to go on to state that I remember the band posting on their website a couple years ago that they were no longer going to be doing massive world wide arena tours. I guess that idea didn't last very long. Anyway, more dates will be come as they are announced. For now here's a video from the Powerslave tour as posted on YouTube:
