Hideo Kojima has released a 15 minute demo video of MGS4 gameplay, check out the report and a link to the video!
Hideo Kojima Releases 15-minute Metal Gear Solid 4 Demo: Hideo Kojima has released a 15-minute long game-play trailer of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. He narrates in Japenese over the gameplay (English Subtitles), and it really shows off the depth of the gameplay that the Kojima productions team has created. Like the past teasers that have been released, this one seems to take place in a war torn city (possibly in the middle east?) and stars an elderly looking Solid Snake. The graphics look amazing, and appear to be just as good as the previous non-gameplay teasers look. Already the gameplay looks extremely detailed (as one would expect from an MGS game) and several new character movements, enemy take downs, and hiding moves are available. The video also shows off the logistics of the Octo-camoflauge and a little bit of the ‘psychological’ warfare aspect of the game, (in the demo, two armies start fighting with each other, and the one Snake helps ally with him after the fight). A new look at the behind the back camera angle is shown off. I’ve personally never had a problem with the classic MGS camera angles, but I do have to admit the new behind the back definetly seems to bring you into the environment a lot better. So far, there’s been no demonstration of the healing or eating system coming back from MGS3 (however CQC is featured in the demo). However this doesn’t mean that it won’t be featured in the game, they just may not have showed it off yet. Personally, I would love for the eating and healing system to come back, I had a lot of fun with those on MGS3. Now I’m sure is the time when most commentators comment on the possible hidden plot clues and meanings that are in the Demo, but if there’s anything that history has shown me about MGS games, it’s that Hideo Kojima is possibly the most cryptic person who has ever lived (at least when it comes to teasers) you never are going to know exactly what’s going on in the game until you actually play the damn thing. Regardless of the storyline, the gameplay looks great (at least as far as what’s been shown, again we don’t know what we’re still not being told about) and it really looks like Kojima is taking full advantage of the PS3, which is good, because it’s about time that MGS was on a system that could handle all of the ideas that are in Mr. Kojimas head. Now if only I could convince Kojima to add Judas Priest as battle music. (Not that I’m complaining about Harry Gregson-Williams composing). You can find the demo video on the MGS4 website, or just click on this link (I believe the video on the site is in HD but i'm probably wrong): http://www.konami.jp/gs/kojima_pro/movie/mg20th_mgs4_playdemo_e.asx Here's the video off of YoutTube:
